I've got a co-worker here that regularly visits a Baltimore area Hacker space that has been bugging me to go for months now. It started originally with my 3D printer but when I told him some very general things about this project he began bugging me more relentlessly to bring my stuff and show it off. He has insisted that there are lots of smart folks there that would have many ideas on how to fix/improve/debug issues.
Of course I'm not all that interested in going all the way to Baltimore for a geek club visit but he had mentioned that a Philly one has a reputation of being the best one on the east coast.
With my failures in getting the people I know to collect interest and help out I'm now wondering if we ought to bite the bullet and just go to one of these things and see what people think. Maybe go once to feel people out, then go a second time to show stuff and collect feedback? You up to exploring that?
Perhaps when you are a little bit further along and we are working out the same issues. I finally got my environment back up and running again after the break and a new wireless router (the supplicant settings are a pain).

The hacker club might not be a bad idea...not sure what kind of projects these folks deal with. Yea I think once I have a more stable prototype and we have narrowed down the issues a little it could be useful. Does this group have an official name/website so I can get more info.

There is a place called the Hacktory and another called Hive76 - both are Philadelphia area "Hackerspaces".
Hackerspaces.org for a list.
