The record test mode currently checked in will run at 50 hz for 3 seconds and auto record the results to files output.*
The file output.samples contain the raw samples and should, if everything is functioning properly, produce about 1.0 G on the Y axis and 0 on X and Z (remember that we swap Y and Z from the accelerometers point of view).
So if you were to run a test - it should be relatively straight forward.
