So I certainly didn't have any trouble heating the bed to 60 deg C for PLA. I was able to print a hollow cube with just minor bridging problems. I printed a new part that had different size holes (and shapes) with a slant and only one side was messed up on the slant. Clearly some calibration is needed but not nearly the issues I was having before. Could very well be that the heat sinks I added (and never tested) are helping as well. After about 30 minutes of heating to 110 deg C I reached only 89 deg. Not sure I understand the problem. perhaps my thermostat isn't mounted properly - could use a surface temp device to verify the temp of the bed is accurate. If I can't get it higher then I might not ever be able to print ABS. Another 30 minutes seems to max out at 89 deg. I found a fan mount for a 40mm fan: www.thingiverse.com/thing:19076/#files - but only have a 20mm fan.
